"Become part of a small team and shape the future of our grandparents' and parents' lives."
In our vision of the future, more and more people will grow old in their own homes. To make this possible, we need to change the approach to how we care for them. We believe that the virtual care home will become the norm and that's why we have already started to work on it today.
The first building block for our vision is to bridge the digital divide between the possibilities of the digital world and people who can't/don't want to use a smartphone. In the last eight years, we developed CARU care - a digital flatmate that provides access to digital services via voice.
Taking societal responsibility. We step into a sector lacking innovation and appreciation to bring justice, dignity, and real human solutions to a pressing societal challenge.
A world where demographic change is an opportunity. A world where every generation finds room to grow and where we shape aging with dignity, independence, and connection.
To create the world's most efficient and humane home care system. By building an ethical, inclusive hardware and software platform, we deliver essential services and foster social closeness, ensuring no one is left behind.
CARU is a Swiss company that was founded in 2017 to bring peace of mind to our aging society. We are located in a beautiful area in the heart of Zurich.
We are a small team and value a close community with weekly meetings and regular get-togethers.
Working at CARU is highly meaningful from day one. We provide a working environment where you can grow both personally and professionally.
Our products are CARU care (www.caru-care.com - smart care alarm system) and CARU air (www.caruair.com - CO2 monitor).
Our software engineers are part of a small, distributed team of dedicated crafts(wo)men. We already have team members located in Switzerland and Italy.
Because of our small team, we rely heavily on automation. We fully embrace continuous integration and strive to achieve continuous delivery.
We give our engineers the autonomy they need by letting them organize themselves during our four-week sprints. At the same time, we encourage techniques like (remote) pair programming and code reviews.
Our principles:
Focus: the benefit for aging users is at the center of all we do.
Partnership: we drive innovation together with our partners.
Simplicity: we absorb the complexity so others don't feel it.
Trust: all our actions must help maintain or increase the trust placed in us.
Embedded: Power management and control of the sensors.
Edge: Embedded Linux to process and send data to the cloud.
Toolbox:
Frontend: Device Fleet Management Web App
Backend: Processing data and offering an API.
AWS AppSync (GraphQL API)
AWS Lambda (with Python)
Analytics: Extracting knowledge from data
We want to lift our approach to quality assurance to the next level and are looking for someone to guide the team in that direction. We would be stoked to receive your application if you are enthusiastic about ensuring that our complex product continues to exceed our users' expectations.
